News yesterday reported that the ECB Coaches Association had signed a four-year deal with Gray-Nicolls to provide branded coaching clothing and equipment to its 12,500 members.
The ECB Coaches Association offers its members development opportunities, education, and support including providing the latest resources and ideas to help coaches run sessions for all cricketers.
Mike Gatting, managing director of Cricket Partnerships at ECB, said: ‘It is a great boost for ECB Coaches Association to partner with a brand with such a great and proud cricketing history. I have no doubt that the new kit, world-leading coaching equipment and products will be hugely popular with our coaches.’
Crazy Catch, the Ultimate Rebound Net, has also confirmed that its classic range will be available through the ECBCA going forward. The Crazy Catch is a unique coaching aid with a SANE and INSANE side which produces a random rebound, testing players fielding and catching skills with a huge number of drills possible. Last year a new handheld product called the Freestyle was added to the range and it has proved very popular amongst coaches being great for warm ups and working on short, close up catches.
Speaking about the announcement Flicx UK MD Richard Beghin, whose company has the sole UK rights to the brand said “It’s great to see that Gray-Nicolls are being innovative and including our essential yet fun coaching aid in the ECBCA programme. We look forward to a close working relationship with all partners to support the development and fielding skills of their coaching network” with brand ambassador and ECBCA member Chris Roger’s adding “Crazy Catches are a fun and enjoyable way to practice catching and will help ensure that you take that pressure catch whether it’s in the playground or a test match arena. Using Crazy Catches can help young children develop a love for fielding and I would certainly recommend them to CA members”.
Chris was voted the ECB Sky Sports Young Coach of the Year in 2012.
