Northants CC recognise local “Crazy Catch” Champion

Northants CC will be recognising the world class catching talents of Moulton College student Stefan Vass at their next T20 Blast game on Friday 11th July at the County Ground. Stefan recently won the U17 category in the global catching competition, the Crazy Catch 1 minute challenge.

The addictive challenge involves throwing and catching a ball off the INSANE side of a Crazy Catch rebound net as many times as you can in a minute from a distance of 2 metres. It sounds easy but trust us its not as the rebounds are completely random which tests your hand-eye co-ordination, agility skills and concentration . Stefan’s top official score in the competition was 70 which was a match for most adults around the world whilst his best recorded score is actually 78 in this video below however its an unofficial score as he used 2 balls at a time which was not allowed within the competition rules.

As a badminton player, Stefan has developed lightening quick reactions and he practices rigorously in his back garden at home also showcasing his talents at corporate events with Crazy Catch including here taking on former England Cricketer Alex Tudor at a Chance 2 Shine fundraising event.

Stefan will receive his prize, a cheque for $250 USD, out in the middle ahead of the toss for the Steelbacks v Derbyshire game on the 11th July and he will be on hand in the interactive area throughout the game to take the one minute challenge against any willing volunteers. Come along and have a go yourself (there is a prize for the best score on the night!) and offer your congratulations to our catching champion.
