WIN a signed England Women’s Cricket shirt at the RSCF Charity Match this Sunday at Wormsley

A Brian Lara Invitational XI takes on a Warwickshire CCC 1990’s XI in support of the Rwanda Cricket Stadium Foundation at Sunday 14th September 2014 and includes your chance to win a signed “Heather Knight” England Women’s Cricket shirt if you win the Crazy Catch one minute charity challenge!

Timings:

• 11.00am – Gates Open
• 2.00pm – Play Starts
• 6.30pm – Close of Play / Presentations

The event will see a team of cricketing stars come together under the leadership of Brian Lara, one of the greatest batsmen the game has ever seen. He will captain a Brian Lara Invitational XI which includes Ashes-winning, former England captain Andrew Strauss, former England wicket keeper Paul Nixon and the former England women’s captain and now head of women’s cricket at the ECB, Clare Connor.

They will play a one day 30 over per side charity match against Brian Lara’s old Warwickshire team mates, with whom he won three out of four domestic trophies and shared a number of his many records including the highest ever first class score of 501 in 1994.

The event will raise funds for the Rwanda Cricket Stadium Foundation (RCSF), a charity established to build the first dedicated, international standard cricket stadium in the Rwandan capital Kigali and with generous support from patrons including the Prime Minister, David Cameron, Jonathan Agnew, Rt Hon Andrew Mitchell MP ,Lord Chadlington and England cricket star Heather Knight the charity has already raised over £390,000 of its £600,000 target. The hope is that this all-star match will help bring the team much closer to their objective!!!

Heather Knight scores 67 catches in a minute – can you beat her??

Heather Knight will also be part of the Mt Kili Madness team who will be attempting to play the highest game of cricket ever playing at the end of this month on a Flicx Pitch. The RCSF will be one of 3 charities benefiting from this world record event and Heather has kindly agreed to donate one of her signed shirts for the winner of the Crazy Catch challenge at Wormsley on Sunday. Heather has a score of 67 and the winner on the day will take home this great prize. It will be £1 a go with a celebrity competition held over lunch and tickets for the event itself are still available (click here) .

Flicx UK, who import the Crazy Catch in addition to manufacturing Flicx Pitches have also agreed to donate a pitch to the RCSF project. On Sunday, there will not only be a chance to see the Rwandan pitch but there will also be cricket coaching by the Cricket Without Boundaries team down in the cricket nets so do come along and join in the fun.
