Improve your Football skills at home with Crazy Catch

I’m sure there are plenty of you who like to have a kick about in the back garden but, even if you have a few mates over to join in, the casual kick about can quickly become very repetitive and dull. However, help is on hand as Crazy Catch have the perfect solution to add a bit of fun and variety to any back garden football game, regardless if you’re playing by yourself or in a group.

Due to its INSANE rebound, Crazy Catch is brilliant for practising and developing your first touch and volleying skills. The unpredictable nature of the INSANE side means no two balls will come back in the same way, therefore, your reactions and your touch are constantly tested. This also makes it a great training aid for goalkeepers. The Crazy Catch range is also extremely quick and easy to set up, so won’t take away any of your precious footy time, and it is portable, so can just as easily be taken to the park or beach.

Make sure you choose the Crazy Catch Double Trouble range for big ball sports like football. Although similar in appearance to the Classic range, the DT range features two INSANE rebound sides (one for a small ball and one for a large ball) so double the trouble. The Upstart is the smallest Crazy Catch in the DT range, followed by the Wildchild, which is our most popular model, and finally the Professional, which is ideal for clubs and schools. The Freestyle is the only hand held Crazy Catch and a great coaching aid.

Crazy Catch is available from all leading football and sports retailers – improve your skills today!

5 NEW Hockey Training Drills from David Harte and Crazy Catch

Think Outside the Box hockey is a set of new, innovative drills from Crazy Catch, specifically created with hockey in mind. The main benefit of using Crazy Catch for hockey is the variety and fun it can add to your training or practice. By using both the SANE and INSANE rebound sides, it is far easier to test your ability and skill levels and simulate match conditions. The unpredictability of the INSANE side provides a great test for any goalkeeper looking to challenge their reactions and saving capabilities, whilst outfield players can develop and improve their first touch, particularly at taking the ball from the air.

For small ball sports, like hockey, the Crazy Catch Classic range is the recommended choice, as can be seen in the above videos. The Upstart is the smallest Crazy Catch in the Classic range, followed by the Wildchild, which is our most popular model, and finally the Professional, which is ideal for clubs and schools. The Freestyle is the only hand held Crazy Catch and a great coaching aid.

Strike, Defend, Evade | Add another dimension to your batting training

Strike, Defend, Evade is an excellent new batting drill from Crazy Catch working on your Vision and Cognitive decision making. With the coach feeding behind the batsmen, it’s a great position from which to provide instant feedback or hone a certain shot.

Three different coloured balls are used (the Crazy Catch Vision balls are also slightly different weights which come off the net at different speeds) and firstly green balls are used with the batter trying to evade balls around the head area replicating short pitched deliveries. Then a red ball is add with the batter looking to strike and go after each ball; thirdly a defend ball is added. Now the coach feeds randomly these three coloured balls and the batter needs to process the colour and make the appropriate decision.

Again with the Crazy Catch, you can alter the level of challenge in this drill by varying the pace of the feed – whilst if you want even more unpredictability – try the insane side. England women’s opener Tammy Beaumont whose currently lining up in the #WWC17 provides her top tip

It’s important to look to play the ball first, then get out the way if needed. As you develop, you’ll learn its hard to control the ball when it gets around your head height so it may be best to leave those. Whether you duck or sway normally depends on the line of the ball. If it’s outside off stump or the line of your body its easier to sway out of the way. If the ball is on the line of your body then its better to duck under the ball to avoid falling on the floor!!

Think Outside the Box | #WWC15 with Tammy Beaumont

Running alongside the Women’s World Cup hosted around England this June and July; Crazy Catch are pleased to announce our brand new campaign “Think Outside the Box” which see’s England’s Tammy Beaumont demonstrating some new and innovative Crazy Catch drills for cricket working with Director of Cricket at Millfield School Mark Garaway.

Says Marketing Manager Kate Costin Think Outside the Box is all about providing coaches with new drill ideas away from the traditional throw and catch concept often associated with Crazy Catch “This series of six drills shows the Crazy Catch as an all round training aid for cricket so we have some great batting drills and ways to use the Crazy Catch to improve your visual skills and decision making”. “Coaches will be able to access these drills via our social channels and also download the FREE PDF which gives all the information you need to run the practice at your school or club so the drill set up, equipment list, progressions, coaching points and some great advice from Tammy and Mark. We are sure that players will be able to make significant gains in their game with this outside the box thinking and hopefully we will see the Crazy Catch being used more creatively as its a hugely  versatile piece of kit”

The Crazy Catch classic range for cricket has both a SANE and INSANE side when used with a small ball. This enables the product to be used at all levels of the game across batting, bowling and fielding skills whilst its also great for team games, warm ups and for gym work incorporating reaction training.
