Running alongside the Women’s World Cup hosted around England this June and July; Crazy Catch are pleased to announce our brand new campaign “Think Outside the Box” which see’s England’s Tammy Beaumont demonstrating some new and innovative Crazy Catch drills for cricket working with Director of Cricket at Millfield School Mark Garaway.
Says Marketing Manager Kate Costin Think Outside the Box is all about providing coaches with new drill ideas away from the traditional throw and catch concept often associated with Crazy Catch “This series of six drills shows the Crazy Catch as an all round training aid for cricket so we have some great batting drills and ways to use the Crazy Catch to improve your visual skills and decision making”. “Coaches will be able to access these drills via our social channels and also download the FREE PDF which gives all the information you need to run the practice at your school or club so the drill set up, equipment list, progressions, coaching points and some great advice from Tammy and Mark. We are sure that players will be able to make significant gains in their game with this outside the box thinking and hopefully we will see the Crazy Catch being used more creatively as its a hugely versatile piece of kit”
The Crazy Catch classic range for cricket has both a SANE and INSANE side when used with a small ball. This enables the product to be used at all levels of the game across batting, bowling and fielding skills whilst its also great for team games, warm ups and for gym work incorporating reaction training.
As part of our “Catches Win Matches” campaign with James Taylor, we are releasing a new fielding drill incorporating Crazy Catch for each of the 4 Pakistan test matches. They will be added to the blog as they are released…
Why not try them in your next cricket club training session or in the garden with your friends. Use the SANE side to get the hang of things, then test your reactions to the max by flipping over to the INSANE side…
Pro:Direct Cricket joined us at Trent Bridge back in March when we filmed with James Taylor for our “Catches Win Matches” video and photo shoot. Pro Direct captured this interview with James where he talks about his fielding hero’s and how important fielding is for the England Cricket team PLUS this behind the scenes video of the day. James is seen using the Crazy Catch range of premium rebound nets to develop his fielding skills…
As you can see from the video, the pace of the rebound is very quick and the unique patented net technology means that the rebound is very unpredictable on the INSANE side. Crazy Catch is a great way to add fun and variety to your cricket teams training sessions and ensure there are no dropped catches this season! Use Crazy Catch for close up fielding drills or to improve throwing accuracy, longer throws and also batting technique … the possibilities are endless.
Crazy Catch, the Ultimate Rebound Net, is delighted to launch a brand new video “Catches Win Matches” featuring James Taylor who was responsible for two amazing catches for England on day three of the third Test at the Wanderers against South Africa which swung the match and series England’s way. It was calculated that James reacted in 0.417 seconds to dismiss Hashim Amla off Stuart Broad!!.
Be your teams fielding hero & take your skills to the next level this summer with fun drills that are great for clubs or for you to practice at home alone. The Ultimate Rebound Net for cricket has one SANE and one totally INSANE side which is unique to Crazy Catch nets and sets us apart as the number one cricket training aid.

The third test is Freestyle Tennis where Compton and Burns take part in a tennis style match using the Crazy Catch Freestyle. The ball must not bounce on their half of the court otherwise they lose the point and the player must use the Freestyle to play the ball into their opponents half – otherwise it’s tennis scoring with the best of three sets deciding this contest … and watch out for the curveballs straight back onto your side!!

The Crazy Catch is used by professional athletes to improve their performance vision skills include world renowned eye specialists Dr Sherylle Calder and Dr Zoe Wimshurst. The eye muscle is one of the most important for cricketers in all elements of the game including catching so this fielding challenge tests visual skills and cognitive decision making which is the ability of the brain to process information and make decisions accordingly.
Here with no visual triggers such as hand angle – the players have to catch only their teams coloured balls which is red for England and Nick Compton and green for Australia and Joe Burns, both of Middlesex. At a very close distance and on the insane side of the Crazy Catch, reaction times are very short!
