Goalkeeper reaction training session with Real Madrid & Crazy Catch

Real Madrid is one of the world’s biggest football clubs and they along with top goalkeeping coach Luis Llopis, have been using Crazy Catch for a couple of years now. Watch this new video of a reaction session featuring Keylor Navas, Kiko Casilla and Ryan Yanez Alabart.

This session uses the Crazy Catch Wildchild Double Trouble as well as a mixture of footballs and smaller tennis balls. Using smaller balls develops quicker reflexes and also aids visual performance (plus going back to using footballs then makes these balls much easier to save). The unique thing about the Crazy Catch is its INSANE rebound so the tennis ball comes off the net very erratically pushing you to the limit and making for a very intensive session. Luis also sometimes pushes the net as the ball impacts to create more pace and unpredictability for these elite keepers. Try some of these ideas in your next session …

Crazy Catch is the original and best rebound net for football (or Soccer) training … Chose from the Double Trouble range; these have large netting on one side, so it’s INSANE even with a football (grey side in image above), then small netting on the front. The Ultimate Rebound Net is available from leading football retailers including Pro Direct Soccer.

‘Crazy catch is something I used for hours on end as a kid and it’s a really fun, easy way to improve your reactions and catching skills’ – Heather Knight, England Women

“The best thing for me about Crazy Catch is the fact that anyone can use it and be challenged to whatever level. It is so much fun… I have seen kids who don’t even like sport play with it all afternoon and love it. Seeing player’s skills and coordination develop as quickly as it does using the Crazy Catch is a real thrill for any coach” – Rupes Kitzinger, Activate Sport (AFCA)

‘Within a matter of days, I could see a dramatic improvement in Oliver’s catching ability, both in technique and coordination. A knock on effect of this has been much improved confidence in his catching, not to mention the fun and enjoyment from playing. Crazy Ccatch is brilliant for developing and honing catching techniques and provides hours of fun” – Peter Such – former England off spinner who recently bought a Crazy Catch for his six year old son.

Sale Sharks pre-season training with Crazy Catch

Crazy Catch were delighted to travel to Carrington training base earlier this month to work with Aviva Premiership Rugby Union side Sale Sharks as their pre-season got into full swing. This video was created in partnership with Centurion Rugby who retail the Crazy Catch and supply Sale Sharks with training equipment.

The Crazy Catch was first associated with Rugby in the lead up to the 2003 World Cup where Sir Clive Woodward used innovative training methods to turn England into World Cup winners. This included using Dr Sherylle Calder, a vision and eye specialist to improve players vision. Calder used the Crazy Catch as a tool to improve eye tracking and peripheral vision and has subsequently worked with other leading sports stars to give them an edge including Ernie Els, the 2012 British Open Winner.

Now Rugby clubs are using the Crazy Catch to improve their reactions, hand eye co-ordination and also specific rugby skills such as handling, picking up a loose ball and you can see in the video above how fun training can be with the Ultimate Rebound Net. We are now getting lots of interest from professional rugby clubs and are supporting Leicester Tigers community roadshows and have recently supplied Connacht Rugby with a number of units to support their training programme for the new season. Crazy Catch drills for Netball with Manchester Thunder

This is a blog for netball coaches and clubs looking to develop their players reaction skills and hand eye co-ordination. The Ultimate Rebound Net has been proving very popular in the netball market recently with the Manchester Thunder NSL and NTL squad inventing some great fun drills with the Crazy Catch range. We ran this campaign in partnership with Netball UK and just wanted to have a place where all the drills could be found quickly and easily. These drills can all be used at your club or school and the difficultly level can be adapted to suit all ages and abilities.

Remember it is the Double Trouble range that we recommend for Netball – the Double Trouble has small netting on one side and larger netting on the other – which obviously creates a more unpredictable rebound.

Drill 1 – Warm up shooting drill

Drill 2 – Crazy Interceptions

Drill 3- Through the Court

Drill 4 – Round the world

Drill 5 – Freestyle shooting

Crazy Catches can also be used in a number of multi player games and our new handheld Freestyle is such a great fun coaching aid, and are perfect for ensuring drills run smoothly as the coach is able to control the pace and direction of the return. Try them for yourself – we guarantee you will have loads of fun!!!
